Meet the Teachers

George Matheson
Tēnā Koutou,

My name is Georgina Matheson and I am a year 1/2 teacher in the Pukeko Hub. I am an experienced junior school teacher and absolutely love working in our innovative learning environment. As a teacher I try hard to ensure my students social, emotional and intellectual needs are met. I am passionate about the 7 principles of learning and strive to provide children with authentic, purposeful and exciting learning experiences.

I have strengths in literacy, numeracy and visual art. In 2015 I completed a post graduate paper in Maths Support and I enjoy the role of a maths support teacher in the junior school.

I look forward to getting to know you and your whānau, and to supporting your child on their learning journey at Marshland School.

Hannah Drury

Kia ora Koutou,

My name is Hannah Drury and I am part of the Year 1/2 Pukeko Hub. This is my fifth year teaching at Marshland and I feel very privileged to be a part of such a future focused school.

I take pride in developing students thinking and seeing them achieve success. Aside from my passion for delivering high-quality Literacy and Numeracy programmes I also enjoy teaching The Arts, Physical Education and Te Reo Māori.

I value student well-being and make sure I get to know all learners and their whānau. Along with the other teachers in the hub I make sure all children have the right to learn, be respected and feel safe.

Lou Kidd
Kia ora whānau!

I'm Lou and this is my third year teaching at Marshland School. Although we teach all children in the hub, my home group are the youngest tamariki. We are located at playground side of the hub.

This is my second year teaching junior children, and I have a real love for this level of learning. I am particularly passionate about teaching literacy, science and te reo Māori.

I have two children who attend Marshland School and are currently Korimako. I am originally from England, but have been living in beautiful New Zealand for 12 years now.

Jill Epps

Kia ora,

My name is Jill and I am a Teacher Aide within the Pukeko Hub.

I started as a parent volunteer for Marshland School twelve years ago when the first of my two boys started school.During that time I discovered my love for working with children at this level. My boys are now well into their high school years but I have remained in the junior school where I have worked as a Teacher Aide for four years now.

For me it is a privilege (and a lot of fun) supporting the learning and wellbeing of your tamariki within our school and to be part of a team with such hard working and dedicated teachers.
